Implementation Overview Video Transcription
Hey everyone and welcome. In this video, I'm going to walk you through the components of my LMS showing how the Start Here module, the first two instructional modules, and the Student Lounge are all organized to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
In my Start Here, I have a video posted and it, allows the students to learn a little bit about me, And then I go over classroom expectations, online expectations, how to ask for help, and working with teachers. Then we explore what we are going to be learning for third the next thing I have posted is a first to last activity. It's just a little fun way for them to show me what their favorite food is, what their favorite subject is. They just take the card and they move it, on this number line, so to speak, from their favorite to least favorite. The next activity I have for them is a little bit about me questionnaire Who is their favorite teacher? What activities would you do on your perfect day?
Asking a few hard questions that some students, will write about, but they won't tell you about personally. do you get embarrassed easily? If you don't understand something, are you comfortable asking for And then one of the most important is what is something that you would like? Like for me to know about you and a lot of times students won't tell you, but they will type it out. They don't feel comfortable verbally sharing, but they would like for me to know those things about The Start Here module is designed to help students feel welcome, learn what to expect, and then to begin building our classroom community. The next two sections that I have are my first two units. The first instructional module is the Lowman unit one. It begins with an introductory lesson and escape room called mission place value. It also serves as a pretest tech students prior knowledge in a fun, low-pressure way. Then we'll walk through the foundation. Of numbers, a slide deck where it has objectives, what we learn, why this matters, how we'll learn vocabulary, as well as, visual tools that we'll We have our independent work assigned in Nearpod, a place value quiz assigned in look it. And we have our topic one exit tickets that are assigned in a Google form all linked for the month of August. We'll do that again for September, just so that all our exit tickets can be in one place. the next topic we cover is addition and subtraction set up the same way with a fun introductory lesson, a slide deck, independent practice, quiz, and then our daily exit tickets in Google Forms. This consistency helps students know what to expect and it builds confidence as they work through each module. And then lastly I have the student lounge. Here the students can visit a linked Padlet board, which serves as an online bulletin board where they can post questions, share ideas, and support each other outside of classroom time. This space helps strengthen our classroom and community and gives students a safe place to ask for and help or connect. And then that's what it looks like and they just have to post. And then possibly they will find, uh, and, and possibly they can find an answer to a question or help somebody else out. This setup gives students a clear supportive structure while allowing them to engage with material in different ways, live, independently, online, and in person. The very last component that I have and I've added and I've used it for years is our online Math Manipulatives Notebook. It has all of our links for our online platforms. It has our timers for our multiplication practice, as well as all our manipulatives, vocabulary words, number words, place value, all the things that we would use in the classroom, just a digital form of it. It keeps everything nice and tidy and in one spot for my thank you for taking the time to explore my Google Classroom. I look forward to hearing your feedback.
