EDLD 5318 helped me see design through the eyes of my students. I created a place value module aligned to TEKS and used interactive tools to make learning fun and effective. started by planning a digital math module for place value which is something my students often struggle with. I used tools like Nearpod and a digital escape room to keep things interactive and fun. After teaching it in my classroom, I asked a small group of educators to test it and provide honest feedback. They pointed out things I hadn’t considered, especially around accessibility and clarity. That feedback helped me make changes that truly improved the experience. This course showed me how powerful thoughtful design can be and reminded me that the best learning happens when we plan with purpose and flexibility.

Instructional Design

In this assignment, I created an online learning experience designed to help third-grade students strengthen their understanding of place value. I focused on making the module interactive and meaningful by using engaging tools like a digital escape room and Nearpod activities. Every step was guided by the principles of learner-centered design and aligned to the TEKS.

Implementation

Once the course was designed, it was time to put it into action. This assignment walks through how I launched the module with my students, including the platforms I used, how I supported learners, and the small adjustments I made along the way to meet student needs. Planning is important, but seeing it come to life is where the real learning begins.

Usability & Reflection

Before finalizing my course, I invited trusted educators to test it out and share honest feedback. Their input helped me identify what worked well and what needed improvement, especially for students who might struggle with tech or need extra support. This process helped me view my work through the eyes of my learners and refine the course experience.
